Tyler Ulis

A 2014 McDonald's All-America, Ulis signed with Kentucky as a five-star recruit over offers from Michigan State, Iowa and others. At 5-foot-9 Ulis is the shortest scholarship player to sign with Kentucky in the John Calipari Era. Ulis spent part of his childhood in Lima, Ohio, before moving to Chicago Heights, Ill., for high school. He graduated from Marian Catholic High School as the program's career leader in points (2,335), assists (578) and steals (283). Ulis wasted no time becoming a fan favorite at Kentucky with a strong showing during the team's six-game summer exhibition series in the Bahamas then starred with a team-high 14 points in a win at No. 4 Louisville. As a freshman Ulis led Kentucky in assists per game (3.6) while appearing off the bench in 37 games. He ranked fourth on the team in minutes per game (23.8). Ulis is the only member of Kentucky's four-man 2014 recruiting class who elected to stay in Lexington for a sophomore season.
