T.J. McConnell is a 6-1, 195-pound Point Guard from Bridgeville, PA.
McConnell was named to the Bob Cousy Award Watch List entering the 2013-14 season. He sat out last season after transferring from Duquesne. At Duquesne, McConnell ranked in the top five nationally in steals per game as both a freshman and sophomore, posting the sixth-best assist-to-turnover ratio (2.50) among freshman in NCAA history in 2010-11.
Played two seasons at Duquesne before transferring to Arizona. Will sit out the 2012-13 season due to transfer eligibility rules, and will compete for the starting point guard position at Arizona in 2013-14.
November 2013: McConnell leads all Pac-12 players with 6.4 assists per game through the first seven games of the season. The junior transfer is a "true" team leader and point guard that has helped lead an Arizona team in achieving five players averaging in double figures. McConnell was stellar in the semifinal and final games of the NIT Season Tip-Off. Playing at Madison Square Garden, McConnell tallied 21 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in wins over Drexel and No.6 Duke to win the tournament title.
