June 2011: Allen played with a mean steak at the Pangos All-American Camp, which allowed him to dispel a few myths about his lack of pure athleticism and competitiveness. At Pangos, Allen showed excellent range on his jump shot, which is very smooth thanks to his high release point and consistent follow-through. What impressive was Allen's aggressiveness inside the paint and his ability to take smaller defenders off the dribble to score from the mid-range and in. Allen got to the rim on several occasions in traffic and even dove for a loose ball or two. Allen has an excellent motor and showed off what can only be described as a greatly-improved crossover dribble. Allen is a face-up big man that likely has a role in college as a hybrid forward capable of executing the pick-and-pop and being a rangy shooter who can also make an impact as an efficient defensive rebounder.
