2012-13: Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team… Athletic Director’s and Big 12 Commissioner’s honor Rolls (fall 2012, spring 2013)… Academic All Big-12 Rookie Team.

Overview: Kansas’ leading returner from 2012-13 in scoring at 5.8 ppg and rebounding at 3.9 ppg… Finished the 2013-14 second on the team in both scoring (13.6) and rebounds (6.7) and led the regulars with a 54.9 field goal percentage... Came on strong toward the end of his freshman season, earning Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team honors.

Junior Season (2014-15): Named to the All-Big 12 First Team... The only player in the Big 12 to rank in the top-10 in scoring (7th, 13.8 ppg), rebounding (4th, 6.9 rpg) and field goal percentage (7th, 45.7) in 2014-15… Led KU in points and in rebounding (both offensive and defensive)… Started in all 34 games he appeared in, missing two outings against Oklahoma (3/7) and TCU (3/12) due to a sprained knee… Scored 10+ points in 25 outings, leading KU in points 13 times… Racked up a team-best seven double-doubles… Named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team… Opened the season by registering a double-double (13 points/10 rebounds) in a double-digit win over UC Santa Barbara (11/14)… Won Orlando Classic MVP honors by racking up 75 points and 30 rebounds throughout the tournament… The first was a 17-point performance against Rider (11/24)… Followed by another 17-point outing against Rhode Island (11/27)… Posted another double-double (22 points/13 rebounds) in a win over Tennessee (11/28)… Capped off the Orlando Classic with 17 points and nine rebounds in a victory over No. 19 Michigan State (11/30)… Recorded his third double-double (13 points/10 rebounds) of the season against Georgetown (12/10)… Followed suit with an all-around performance totaling 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks against No. 13 Utah (12/13)… Recorded his fifth double-double on the season in just over 19 minutes of play with 13 points and 10 rebounds in just the first half against Kansas State (1/31) and finished the game totaling 16 points and 12 rebounds… Paced the Jayhawks with 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting against TCU (2/21)… Turned in his seventh double-double of the season and the 13th of his career with a team season-best 28 points, while snatching another team season-high 13 rebounds against Texas (2/28)… Came out of the game against No. 20 West Virginia (3/3) and missed the next two games – the first missed games of his career… Returned to play No. 16 Baylor (3/13) in the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship, scoring 11 points and grabbing six rebounds… Tallied nine points and a block in KU’s win against New Mexico State (3/20) in the NCAA Tournament… Took a hard blow to the face in the Wichita State (3/22) game, but came back from the locker room to score 16 points in the loss to the Shockers.

Sophomore Season (2013-14): All-Big 12 Third Team... Started 34 of 35 games in 2013-14, sitting for Justin Wesley to start on Senior Night... Led the team in field-goal percentage (54.9)... Posted a double-double vs. Eastern Kentucky (3/21) with 14 points and 13 rebounds... Second-leading KU scorer (13.6 points per game)... Broke the Big 12 Tournament field-goal percentage record, shooting 91.7 percent (11-12) vs. Iowa State (3/14)... Ellis won a share of the Big 12 Player of the Week award for the second time (2/17) by totaling 51 points and 19 rebounds for the week… The first was a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds against Kansas State (2/10)… The second was a career day with 32 points against TCU (2/15) on 13-of-15 shooting... Freshman Season (2012-13): Averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds and started three of 37 games played in 2012-13… Had seven games with 10-plus points and 11 contests with six or more rebounds… Shot 60 percent or better in 11 games… Led or tied for the team lead in steals in five games… Has solid range, shooting 2-for-3 from beyond the arc as a freshman… Scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds vs. Western Kentucky (3/22) in the NCAA Tournament... A Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team selection... Led KU with 14.3 ppg, 78.3 FG Pct. and tied for the team high with 6.3 rpg in the Big 12 Championship... Europe 2012: Led Kansas in field goal percentage at 65.4 percent on KU’s Europe trip to Switzerland and Paris in August 2012… Started one of four games played on the tour… Also led the team in free throw percentage at 87.5 percent, going 7-for-8 in the four games… Averaged 10.3 points on the trip, yet only scored in double figures once… Third on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game for the trip… Had a double-double in the final game in Paris with 16 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, and 12 rebounds.

Wichita Heights High School: Led Wichita Heights to four-straight Class 6A State Titles… Finished his career as the school’s and conference’s all-time leading scorer (2,231 points), only to have it broken by current teammate Conner Frankamp a year later... Was part of Heights’ state record 62-game winning streak which was the nation’s longest active streak during the 2011-12 season... A four-time Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year… Averaged 25.8 points and 9.4 rebounds as a senior… Averaged 22.1 points and 7.9 rebounds his junior season… As a sophomore averaged 22.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest… As a freshman, he averaged 19.2 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists… Coached by Joe Auer… A McDonald’s All-American that was ranked No. 24 overall by Rivals.com in the final rankings, No. 35 overall by ESPNU100 and No. 33 by Scout.com… Rated the ninth-best power forward in the country by Rivals.com… Signed an NLI with Kansas in November 2011… Valedictorian of his senior class… Kansas’ first-ever four-time all-state selection...
