H.S. Scouting Report

H.S. Athletic Background

Kyle Fogg was a late signee, one of the last recruits under former head coach and basketball legend Lute Olson. Fogg immediately earned playing time under interim head coach Kevin O'Neil for his gritty, defensive-minded style. Surprisingly, Fogg also proved to be a competent shooter and all-around player who finished his freshman season making 45% of his shots to go along with 86 rebounds, 59 assists and 30 steals.

As a sophomore, Fogg and his teammates were forced to endure their second interim head coach in two seasons, this time playing for Russ Pennell in Olson's absence from the bench. Fogg turned in a slightly better season than his freshman campaign by improving his assist and rebounding totals while getting to the foul line for 110 attempts.

Fogg saw his shooting efficiency drop as a junior, but was still a major contributor to Arizona's team success as the Wildcats raced their way to the Elite Eight, eventually losing to UConn by two points. Fogg tied his career high with 30 steals on the season while improving his assists from 68 to 99. Where Fogg slipped was with his shooting touch, connecting on just 94-of-252 field goal attempts and shooting just over 30% from behind the arc.

Fogg's senior season is off to a strong start. Through 13 games, Fogg is back to shooting the ball well from the field. He's hit 47-of-108 from the floor (43.5%) and has upped his 3-Point shooting to 46.2% (25/52). He's already halfway to a season-high in steals (15 with 18 regular season games still to be played).

Since league play began, Fogg has continued to shoot the basketball well. Through 24 games, he's connecting on 42.2% of his field goals while knocking down 46.5% of his treys on the season.
