H.S. Scouting Report

H.S. Athletic Background

Travel Team: Belmont Shore

May 2011: Speed is not an issue with this Class of 2013 point guard prospect. Iroegbu has solid handles and an explosive second gear when using a hesitation step to break into open space in transition. His decision making on the break was suspect at times, but in a camp setting (Pangos All-American Camp) that's understandable. Shows excellent form on his jump shot and is a strong player for his size. Iroegbu embraces the challenge of going up against older, more experienced players and uses the opportunity to identify weaknesses in his game and improve upon them the next time out.

July 2012 Evaluation: Iroegbu is one of the quickest players with the basketball in his hands in the country. Improved from a year ago after a season at Oak Hill Academy, Iroegbu is doing a much better job in playing under control without losing speed. He's a solid decision maker with a pass first attitude after breaking down his defender and getting into the lane. However, Iroegbu has added a fancy pull jumper to his game. If he can continue to hone his shooting skills (does have a slight hitch in his shot release), his explosive first step will be made even more effective as defenders won't be able to sag off and try to negate Iroegbu's explosive dribble penetration.
