Gehrig Normand

Normand is a true small forward whose calling card is his ability to make shots from behind the arc. He can knock down deep jumpers off the move with regularity no matter if he is coming off pin-downs or flairs and is contested. When his game is not based around the three-point line, Normand takes pride in his ability to make an exciting play happen above the rim. His eyes open wide at the opportunity for late close-out drives and has been a backside lob target throughout the summer of 2022. While he is a solid vertical athlete, laterally he could stand to improve and show more focus on the defensive side of the basketball. By playing for a Hall of Fame coach, effort and overall improvement on that end of the floor will be demanded. However, his commitment proves to be a solid fit not only for the Spartans basketball program but also for the Big Ten Conference as a whole. Normand draws the Matt McQuaid comparisons due to his shooting prowess at his size and his ability to get off the floor. He will be one whose role shole should increase as his year in East Lansing progress just as McQuaid’s did.
