Xavier Player

Playing for a perennial power at Steele, Player helped the Knights to an 8-4 season playing one of the toughest schedules in Texas Class 6A. He had 48 tackles as a senior with 22 unassisted. He picked off a pass and recovered two fumbles. As a junior he had 37 tackles with 18 unassisted, one tackle for loss, and two interceptions while sharing the same secondary with Texas All-Big 12 safety Caden Sterns. In his sophomore season he was also a starter at corner with 16 tackles and nine unassisted.
