Steven Murray

Murray is a two-way player and shows the ability to play corner or receiver at the next level. He can really run and looks like one of the more explosive athletes in the East Region. As a receiver, he’s a true deep threat who can get behind a defense with ease and has the kind of separation speed everyone is looking for. He runs well after the catch and shows the ability to take a short hitch or slant, make a few defenders miss and take it to the house. He’s not just top-end fast but shows good initial quickness as well and doesn’t take more than a few strides before he’s hitting top gear. He shows good cover instincts and ball skills at corner but upside wise, receiver looks like his best position. He needs to continue to round out his game a bit as he’s mostly running streaks and become a more well rounded route runner but all the physical traits are there. He has a track background as well with personal bests of 11.23-100m and 20’2” long jump from his freshman year. He was very productive as a junior, hauling in 55 catches for 935 yards and 16 touchdowns to go with 32 tackles and five interceptions from his corner spot. He added another score on an 82 yard kickoff return and should be a major factor in the return game in college as well.
