Reminds Us Of

Myles Jack Pittsburgh Steelers

One of the top overall athletes to come out of the high school ranks in recent memory given both on-field and off-field accomplishments. Not only racked up 350 tackles and 5,000 rushing yards in four years at the varsity level, but captured back-to-back gold medals on the wrestling mat while posting freaky track markers for someone that’s north of 225 pounds. Could probably find a home somewhere as a running back, but tape suggests that he has a chance to be special as an inside linebacker with his advanced instincts and willingness to take on blocks. Quick to trigger and always seems to be in the right gap at the right time. Wasn’t asked to blitz a ton on Friday nights, but has flashed the ability to bend while changing directions. Owns impressive grip strength and will roll his hips to get people on the ground. Serviceable in 1-on-1 situations, but is a better zone defender than he is a man defender at this stage. Didn’t face the stiffest competition playing in one of the Peach State’s lower classifications, but looked exactly how a future difference-maker should look in that type of setting. Still, it could take a semester or two for him to get adjusted to the tempo of the collegiate game. Should be viewed as one of the top defensive prospects in the 2024 cycle and a future multi-year starter. Likely to set weight room records at the school of choice and become a leader with his work ethic. Testing numbers could turn heads at the NFL Scouting Combine one day.
