Projection

4-7 Round Day 3

Reminds Us Of

Kevin Byard Tennessee Titans

Talented defensive back prospect with a good frame and an obvious feel for the game. Above-average height and good frame potential for a player destined for the secondary. Experience in multiple DB roles, but projects best to safety. Great football pedigree. Natural football player with good instincts. Difference-maker in all three phases for Texas big-school powerhouse. Terrific ball skills for a projected safety thanks to ample snaps at receiver. Shows good body control to adjust to balls in flight. Not afraid to mix it up against the run. Aware player with strong football IQ. Fairly fluid for a bigger-framed DB. Should be able to line up in the nickel and at corner at times if needed. Shows good initial burst. Fast enough, but can improve top-end long speed. Good build, but will need to further fill out frame to maximize tackle strength at the next level. Polished player with high floor, so ceiling may be limited. Sound tackler, but not a tone-setter as a hitter. Box safety frame but play style more suited to over the top in center field. Should become a reliable Power 5 starter and possible all-league candidate with NFL Draft potential.
