H.S. Scouting Report

H.S. Athletic Background

Wilson was on a stellar offensive line as a senior that helped Argyle deep into the playoffs and a 13-1 record overall. The offense had 3,745-yards passing and 47 touchdowns and allowed only eight sacks all season. The Eagles rushed for 2,823-yards and a 6.0-yard average on each run. That adds up to a total offense of 6,868-yards. As a junior he was first-team All-District 4-4A at offensive tackle and he was honorable mention All-State.

Scouting Report: I think it would be hard not to get very excited about Wilson as in every game he does give you a flashback to Michael Oher in The Blind Side as he locks on and pushes a defender, almost always a lineman downfield some 20-30-yards even more. Wilson will be able to absorb and get better at technique like his footwork and his pass pro technique, but from the standpoint of being able to lock on to a defender and stay attached and make sure he has no chance to impact the play he is already very good. He is long arms and is very good at using them, strong hands that defenders fight but can’t get off them. If there is a physical weakness then it might be agility in his legs and feet. He can get better at moving them using his feet to gain better position off the snap of the football. I love that he has also played some defense and plays with an attitude. He can line up at tackle one play and center the next and be just as adept. Wilson has a chance to develop into a very special player. He reminds me some of Zach Crabtree coming out of high school, but better.
