Also had an interception, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and a defensive touchdown for coach Pete Gilchrist's Vikings ... The three-time 3A Mid-Point honoree was a two-year varsity starter after transferring into the NFHS program before his sophomore year ... Selected as the league's defensive player-of-the-year in 2012 after helping lead Vikings to a 6-5 overall record, a 4-1 conference mark and a bid to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state playoffs (before falling to A.L. Brown 41-34 in the opening round) ... Checked in at No. 46 on the Fayetteville Observer's Top 50 college football prospects list prior to the 2012 campaign ...
