Ondre Evans

An explosive two-way athlete with top-flight track times that projects as a defensive back at the next level. Measured just north of 6-foot, 180 pounds summer before senior season and is equipped with adequate length in the arms. Impressive short-area burst allows to not only recover and erase mistakes, but also jump routes and generate takeaways. Has been asked to play a lot of off-man coverage out on the perimeter, but has shown on multiple occasions that he’s not afraid to try and redirect traffic with his hands and could thrive in a bump-and-run scheme after a developmental year or two. Surprisingly physical given his leaner build and does an admirable job of wrapping up ball carries and getting them to the ground. Should be viewed as a versatile piece for any secondary and a potential impact player at the Power Five level. Likely to get a good hard look as an outside cornerback given ideal combination of speed and reach, but could also find a home at one of the safety spots or even in the nickel. NFL upside.
