Maliq Carr

Carr has a tall, long-limbed build and already carries significant weight in his lower body. Possesses long arms and big hands. At 230 pounds in the summer prior to his senior season, it’s likely Carr outgrows the wide receiver position once he enters a Power 5 strength program - particularly considering he’s that size as a three-sport athlete in high school. Carr brings immense potential to the table as a tight end prospect. With a sub 4.7 second 40-yard dash, his athleticism registers on the elite scale as a tight end. He shows good burst off the line and can pull away from defensive backs in the open field with a long stride. Carr also has high level downfield tracking skills. He’s a strong deep ball receiver and projects as a dangerous threat working up the seam at the next level as evidenced by his preposterous 38 yards per catch as a junior. Assuming he grows into a tight end, Carr will need gain a proficiency as a blocker, though mismatch ability as a pass catcher is more coveted at the position. With his size, athleticism and skills, Carr projects as a multi-year starter and potential early round draft pick as a tight end.
