H.S. Scouting Report

H.S. Athletic Background

As a senior Farrar had 55 total tackles for the Raiders, who just missed upsetting DeSoto in the first round of the playoffs, losing to the powerhouse Eagles 55-53. Farrar had 39 unassisted tackles with 7.0 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks. He also had six quarterback hurries and three fumble recoveries. His hard-hitting style of play earned him honorable mention honors at linebacker for both the 2017 Texas Sportswriters Association and the Associated Press Sports Editors All-State teams. He was also a first-team All-District 6A-9 honoree. He should repeat this season. Farrar also ran track at Skyline and had a personal best 11.33 in the 100-meter dash at the UIL 6A District 09 event in April 2018. He also posted a 19’ 10.5 personal-best long jump at the district meet

Scouting Report: Farrar is a big hitter, ferocious and not dirty, saw little targeting, just big hits. It is easy to see he’s very comfortable as an edge speed rusher and that is where a lot of his highlights show up. He has lots of athletic ability, but he tackles to high and doesn’t wrap up enough for me. Those are all things that are correctable. His plusses beside the ability to be very effective rushing the passer is that he has good instincts and gets to the ball quickly. When he makes mistakes, he continues playing and on occasion ends up helping finish the play. Much better against the run or as the pass rusher but show skills to improve in pass defense. He appears to be a good candidate to help on special teams early.
