Projection
Power 4 StarterVery good high school basketball player with the tools to be an impact college defensive lineman with an NFL ceiling. Moves very well for a big body and has embraced working off the field. Still working on improving technique and refining his game but has a lot of potential and could go in several directions positionally. Strong-side end, 3-4 end or a full move inside are all possibilities but the talent is unquestionable.
H.S. Athletic Background
Also a standout basketball player and has been playing at the varsity level since his freshman year.
---------
Jayquan Stubbs is a 6-6, 249-pound defensive lineman from Cleveland, OH.
Sources Tell Us
"One of the big things is, he has great feet. He's a multi-sport athlete, a very good basketball player and this year, he will be throwing shot put and discus. I think the athleticism and his feet made him come on in a big way last year (as a junior). I think initially his focus was more on basketball, but last summer, I kept asking him to play and he decided to play. To his credit, he worked hard and each week, I saw him get better and better. You don't find guys with his size and athleticism falling off trees." -- Cleveland Heights head coach Mac Stephens
