Jaylen Watson

High school wide receiver who showed quickness and suddenness there that will serve him well in a move to defensive back. We always liked his route running and ability to create separation and those qualities have already helped him in the early stages of his transition to the defensive side of the ball. Change of direction and fluidity are good and he has obvious ball skills given his offensive background. We do not have a marker for his pure straight line speed but as far as we can tell, he's fast enough on film. He will have to fill in some and get stronger, and show he can tackle as that is currently an unknown part of his game, but he has the baseline qualities to be a Power Five cornerback with some seasoning.
