H.S. Athletic Background
A former three-star recruit, Javess Blue did not arrive on campus until preseason camp in 2013 as a junior-college transfer but still led Kentucky in catches (43), receiving yards (586) and receiving touchdowns (four) during his first season on campus. He also contributed on Kentucky's kickoff and punt return teams, leading the team with 103.2 all-purpose yards per game. Offseason shoulder surgery kept Blue from participating in spring practice following his senior season. He was also slowed in preseason camp then suffered an ankle injury in the season opener. When healthy, Blue proved to be one of Kentucky's best receivers as a senior, finishing his career with 1,111 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
