Flory Bidunga

Bidunga the most athletically gifted big man in the national class. He’s extremely long with broad shoulders and a wide wingspan. He’s already powerful and physically imposing, yet still has plenty of room on his frame to keep adding more muscle mass. When he’s committed to sprinting the floor, there isn’t another big man in the national class who can match him from rim-to-rim.Most of all, Bidunga is an exceptional leaper, who is both quick and explosive off his feet. He absolutely hammers dunks as the most emphatic finisher in the class and is also an elite lob-threat. Defensively, his length and bounce make him an excellent rim protector who not only patrols the paint but is also able to recover and erase mistakes from both on and off the ball.

While Bidunga has been intent on developing his skill-set, there are still strides to make. Defensively, he often just floats around the paint with virtually complete freedom. He hasn’t had to really execute specific coverages yet and tends to bite on shot-fakes as he’s simply trying to block everything. Consequently, he’s not always the high-volume rebounder he’s capable of being. Offensively, he rolls off his ball-screens quickly to get good separation, but isn’t always instinctual with quick reaction plays. His hands are adequate, but can look slightly hard at times in traffic. He shows some potential as a passer and has also improved his ability to put the ball on the floor, but he’s very left-hand dominant and can try to do too much at times. In the post, he’s very good when he gets deep position, elevating to almost shoot down on baby hooks, but not especially refined outside of that range. He’s also not much of a shooting threat at this point who needs to be more accurate at the free-throw line (27-48 in 3SSB play, 56%).

The bottom line is when Bidunga is playing with a super charged motor, he’s the most physically dominant big man in the game, but there is still work left to be done.
