Projection

Power 4 Starter

A jumbo athlete that projects as either a tight end or defensive end at the next level. Actually began his prep career taking snaps at quarterback before changing schools and ditching the red no-contact jersey. Over 6-foot-3 and pushing at least 245 pounds. Already pretty muscular and thick throughout the torso, but nowhere near close to being tapped out. Surprisingly agile for a big man and looks pretty natural as both a route runner and a pass catcher. Has experience lining up both attached and detached in a pass-happy, 11-personnel shotgun attack. Above average blocker that should become more and more reliable in the run game with the proper coaching. On defense, flashed as a senior working as a stand-up edge rusher in a four-man front. Still learning how to consistently win with technique, but the ability to hawk down ball carriers with his burst –and length– is very encouraging. Has produced against top-flight competition, scoring a pair of rushing touchdowns out of the wildcat formation against the Texas power that is Duncanville. Also totaled 58 receiving yards that afternoon and a key tackle for loss. Will need to avoid setbacks, but has what it takes to make an impact somewhere on Saturdays given how he moves for someone his size.
