Projection

Power 4 Starter

Unverified size but adequate height with a sturdy build. Not a proverbial "big" back but stoutly assembled with a run style to match. Runs hard and, despite upright gait, lowers pad level to take on contact. Flashes a good stiff arm. Plays with good foot quickness that fosters consistent in-space wiggle. Shows some open-field subtlety of movement and fluidity that allows him to slip by tacklers. Cuts with conviction and burst. Redirects well without much gear-down. Great production through junior year, including consecutive 1,800-yard seasons and 4,000 total on 11.0 yards per carry in first three years. Athleticism lacks context in any form other than on-field performance. No verified testing or track and field data. Can open up better at the top end to increase long speed. Faces small-school competition (Texas 3A D-II) that could present a learning curve in transition to P5 level. Plays in a run-heavy offense and lacks pass-catching opportunities. Will need to acclimate to a more modern scheme in college. Definitely a P5-caliber back with a high floor and a nice combination of run effort and nuance. Still has tread on the tires despite run-heavy scheme and could become a reliable power conference starter.
