Reminds Us Of

Leonard Taylor III Miami Hurricanes

A disruptive force in the middle with a promising build that likes to initiate action and make life difficult for opposing quarterbacks. Made play after play at IMG Academy and oftentimes took over games when they mattered the most, like in an nationally-televised contest against St. Joseph’s Prep where he was credited with a strip-sack, a half dozen pressures and multiple tackles for loss. Carries 280 pounds like its 225 pounds on a verified 6-foot-4 frame that’s fitted with near 35-inch arms. Wins more times than not with his first-step, but the X-factor appears to be his active, heavy hands as he will use a variety of different moves to maneuver his way into the backfield. Tape shows a more linear rusher at this stage, but the lateral quickness is there to make stops outside of his lane. Needs to improve at anchoring against the run, but can get off blocks better than most his age and is likely only going to get better at holding up traffic after a year or two in a college weight room. Worked out of multiple alignments throughout prep career, but future is likely on the interior as a 5 or 3-technique. Should be viewed as one of the top defensive linemen in the 2024 cycle and a potential impact player on Saturdays that can morph into an early-round NFL Draft pick with plenty of seasoning. Could thrive in a defensive scheme that wants to twist its tackles given how he builds momentum and finishes.

H.S. Athletic Background
