Scouting Report

Evaluated 07/02/2022

Gabe Brooks Midlands Region Recruiting Analyst

Good height and length with college-ready size for an edge role, but ample frame space to add significant mass as a true defensive lineman if desired. Primarily played end in a four-man front as a junior. Could continue that role or play a variety of spots depending on personnel looks.

Flashes impressive functional athleticism relative to size. Testing data supports athleticism with a verified 40-yard dash eclipsing 4.8 and multiple sub-4.5 shuttle times. Translates to the field with explosiveness at the snap and upon arrival as a tackler.

Displays encouraging dip-and-end ability running the arc relative to naturally higher center of gravity. Active and effective with hands at the point of attack, especially as a pass rusher.

Engaged vs. the run with speed-to-power capabilities that foster playing through blockers to make plays. Good downhill pursuit conviction with chase-down athleticism in back-side scenarios.

Testing data points are strong, but athletic profile lacks multi-layered context of some other high-level front-line defenders in regards to multiple sports and additional verified numbers (shot put, discus, etc.).

Occasionally will engage when not necessary, almost as to prove a point. Generally a quick-footed defender but from time to time does not play quite as loose in the short area as numbers might suggest.

Bona fide high-major prospect who could fit myriad spots in different schemes. Projects as a quality starter who could eventually become an impact player with a long-term ceiling leading to the NFL Draft.

Athletic Background

2021: Primarily played defensive end in a four-man front as a junior. Helped St. Frances Academy to an 8-1 record.
