Reminds Us Of

D.J. Wonnum Minnesota Vikings

Tall, long, lean edge rusher who should possess immense frame space to add mass and strength. Likely owns the capacity to become an every-down three-point lineman, but excels off the edge, especially from a two-point stance.

Flashes terrific closing speed accompanied by a broad pursuit range. Shows chase-down athleticism from the back side. High-effort player who can win with combination of physical tools and sheer will.

Active vs. the run. Can fight through traffic to make plays on the ball. Will need to add mass and get stronger to anchor vs. college linemen and eliminate washouts.

Displays promising pass-rush arsenal. Uses a startling spin move that works to the outside and as an inside counter. Does a solid job of turning the corner relative to his long-framed physiology.

At his best isolated in space on the outside with room to operate. Shows better hand violence / technique when given that outside allowance.

Sometimes a waist-bender who initially gets high. Can better exploit his length with more consistent extension, which should foster disengaging ability.

Owns a strong athletic profile. Throws competitor with impressive numbers in the discus and shot put. Provides good production with double-digit sacks in junior and senior seasons. Noteworthy football pedigree as the son of a former P5 defensive end.

Likely fits multiple roles in varying defensive schemes. Natural fit as an edge rusher who gives headaches to larger, slower opponents on a passing-down island.

May need some time to physically develop, but projects as a high-major edge defender who could become an impact player with a long-term NFL Draft ceiling.
