Clint Stephens

At about 6-1, 190 pounds, Stephens is a naturally big kid with the frame to continue to bulk up and fill out. It's likely that Stephens will start out as a boundary corner and he does have a corner skill set. He’s an athletic kid with good ball skills and toughness. If he continues to thicken out some, a move to safety might be his meal ticket as he’s a very intelligent football player who understands how to play the position. He’s rangy and instinctive and can cover a lot of ground. He’s physical in run support and covers well down the field. He was a very good receiver as a sophomore but played predominately as a defensive back this past season. We saw him playing a lot of nickel on the 7v7 circuit where he could bully opposing receivers at the line while looking comfortable playing in space as well. We would like to see him continue to develop athletically and improve his fluidity in his movement. We do like this pickup a lot and feel Stephens has some nice untapped potential that will come out once he gets in to a college weight and nutrition program. He’s a hard working kid, high character and has the kind of positional flexibility that all schools covet.
