Projection

Power 4 Starter

Reminds Us Of

Jahleel Billingsley Texas Longhorns

A potential game-changing tight end. Aces the eye test with a lean, athletic frame that’s pushing 6-foot-6. Should be able to add some mass over the next few years once focus shifts strictly to football and away from basketball. Looks like a new-age “flex” tight end that has been featured primarily as a slot receiver given his ability to create mismatches, but has actually spent much of prep career lined up in a three-point stance in a run-heavy offense. Blocks with a purpose and above-average technique as he will sink his hips and latch onto a would-be tackler before trying to move them out of the way. Hasn’t seen a high volume of balls come his way on Fridays, but has made a handful of difficult grabs over the years and shown on both the camp and 7-on-7 circuit that he’s more than capable of stretching the field and being a part of the passing attack. Could get a little more explosive. Will also need to keep progressing as a route runner, but has what it takes to develop into a multi-year starter for a Power 5 program. Large catch radius is likely to draw looks from NFL scouts one day.

H.S. Athletic Background

Also plays basketball. Holds basketball offers from USF, Western Michigan and IUPU.

2020: First year playing football. Split out wide and also worked as an in-line blocker for a Berkley Prep squad that went 7-2 and made 3A state semifinal. Caught four passes for roughly 82 yards and a touchdown.
