Power-5 Starter

Reminds Us Of

Devon Kennard Detroit Lions

Productive edge defender who is more long than tall. Stout build perhaps more reminiscent of a linebacker. Could be viewed as a 'tweener at four-man end or odd-front standing edge defender, but likely possesses enough length to add requisite bulk. Instinctive edge presence who faces good competition in practices and games relative to high school level. Flashes a good first step that serves as the foundation of speed-rushing ability. Consistently bends the edge. Plays fairly low with above average leverage. Closes on a target with purpose. Can be dangerous in backside pursuit. Motor runs high. Provided great production as a junior (one sack per game over 16-game schedule). Must continue to add size and strength to transition to high-major level. Added bulk and power will aid in standing up to the rigors of the running game. Plays fast enough, but has not recorded verified testing numbers since February of sophomore year. Needs to expand pass-rushing repertoire, along with developing point-of-attack power and hand violence. Has not been asked to drop into coverage in high school. Active edge defender with potential scheme-versatility who finds ways to get to the QB. Could become multi-year starter at Power Five level.

H.S. Athletic Background

2018: Earned a first-team all-district selection as a junior. Helped Pearland Shadow Creek to a 15-1 record and a Texas Class 5A Division I state runner-up finish in their first-ever year of varsity play as a school
